If your Land Rover has the fibre-optic amplifier sound system then instead of bypassing the amplifier when you change stereo you can keep it! Buy this fibre-optic decoder box and the replacement head unit will work with your amplifier sound system directly.
This adaptor is required in vehicles which have an original Fibre-Optic sound system. This decoder provides high-quality audio and video levels for your in-car entertainment needs. MOST fibre optic interface designed to retain the use of the original fibre optic audio amplifier in various models to allow the fitting of an aftermarket radio upgrade.
The interface connects at the back of the radio, it takes the phono audio output from the new radio and converts it to a digital signal that works with the original MOST fibre optic amplifier in the car.
To identify if you have an amplified audio system, you can check with the original invoice received when the car was purchased from the factory. Some vehicles will have clear markings on the speaker grills indicating the presence of an upgraded audio system. Or you can call your local dealer with your vehicles chassis number and ask them to check if the vehicle was manufacturer with an amplified audio system.

PLEASE NOTE: You will lose front to rear fading ability, but this interface still allows balance between left and right channels. The interface gets installed at the amplifier end of the vehicle, not at the stereo end.
