MAIN FEATURES
This adaptor is required when fitting an aftermarket radio into vehicles equipped with a factory diversity antenna system. Commonly found in newer VW, Audi, and other VAG models. These systems use a Twin Fakra connection with an integrated aerial booster. To power the booster, the blue wire must be connected to a 12V ignition feed.
Diversity antenna systems use two aerials positioned in different parts of the vehicle to improve FM signal quality. The radio automatically selects the stronger signal, reducing static and dropouts caused by local interference such as traffic lights, buildings, or power lines. This setup helps maintain consistent audio performance, especially when stationary or driving through signal-obstructed areas.
PLEASE NOTE:
The loose blue wire should be connected to the antenna turn-on wire (typically blue or blue/white) from the aftermarket radio harness. This activates the vehicle’s original antenna amplifier
