MAIN FEATURES

This universal extension lead is designed for customers who wish to change from their BMW vehicle with the OEM Sat-Nav head unit to an aftermarket unit. Once the standard navigation unit is removed you will be left with two plugs (blue and white) these are not the 17pin or 40pin connections you would expect. Due to the design of the standard BMW Sat-Nav systems, the original BMW stereo connections are located in the boot. This can cause some confusion when installing an aftermarket stereo. The bypass cable provides you with the opportunity to put the stereo wiring back to normal.

Previous extensions have only been compatible with the model of stereo being fitted, making it difficult to find an alternative solution. This wire takes care of things. It is specially designed to resolve this issue. With the BMW Quadlock means that any aftermarket stereo with standard Quadlock connection can be fitted using this cable, with the correct adapter you can even use this cable to install a unit with an ISO connection. Most customers are unsure if they have the 17pin or 40pin loom going into their navigation box. This takes care of that by providing both connections. Then you have the 40 pin on the other side to be the new loom behind the stereo.

This cable is used on the following vehicles when the BM54 stock radio is unplugged in the rear:

  • BMW 3 Series E46
  • BMW 5 Series E39
  • BMW 7 Series E38
  • BMW X5 E53
  • Range Rover L322 (2002-2004)

No matter what stereo you want to change your standard BMW Sat-Nav head unit to, you will require this cable.
