This Steering Wheel Control Interface to allow plug and play installation of an after-market head unit into a vehicle whilst maintaining use of the steering wheel controls. Steering control and stalk adaptors have a very simple but useful function - essentially, they enable you to retain the use of your steering wheel controls when you have an aftermarket head unit fitted, so you can control and enjoy your in-car entertainment exactly the way you want to.
PLEASE NOTE: Each interface is compatible with a range of patch leads. An additional patch lead is required for the steering controls depending on the make of radio being fitted. If unsure please SEE HERE.
FEATURES:
Steering wheel control interface and adapter cable for Porsche 911, Boxster, Cayman and Cayenne cars to fit an aftermarket radio upgrade. The cable adapts from the Porsche ISO connectors in the car to standard aftermarket ISO connectors. This replaces the need for a separate ISO radio replacement adapter cable.
The CANbus steering wheel control interface is built in to the adapter cable for a plug and play installation. This interface will allow the original audio control buttons on the steering wheel to work with the new aftermarket radio. The interface will work the volume, track skip, source, mute and telephone buttons. Note; the operation of these buttons can de dependent on the vehicle spec and radio compatibility.
The CANbus interface will also provide key present ignition, illumination, reverse gear, handbrake and speed pulse outputs. A key present ignition means the stereo will turn on with the first click of the key and stay on until the key is removed from the ignition barrel.
This interface will work with cars with and without the Bose audio system, however, cars with Bose audio systems will require additional amplifier adapters or the the amplifier may need to be bypassed.

Note: You may also require other accessories to fit your car stereo eg. fascia adapter or an aerial adaptor. You will not require an ISO stereo lead as it can be substituted for this steering wheel adapter. We stock the full range of stereo fitting parts, just ask if you need help.
