What Does DIN Mean? Head units generally come in either Single DIN or Double DIN size. The depth is not standardised.
- Single DIN (Otherwise known as 1-DIN) has the size of 182mm Width by 53mm Height
- Double DIN (Otherwise know as 2-DIN) has the size of 173mm Width by 98mm Height
IMPORTANT NOTE: It's important to know the size of your head unit when choosing a fascia. Most branded units such as Pioneer, Alpine, Sony, JVC, Kenwood, Panasonic etc use the standard 173mm by 98mm Double DIN fitment. However, many non-branded head units are 178mm by 100mm (typicall units with a bigger screen than 6.2"). If you have a unit with the larger Double DIN fitment, you may require a different part.
