This MOST fibre optic interface allows you to retain the original Bose fibre‑optic amplifier when upgrading the stereo in Porsche Boxster 986 and 911 996 models. Designed specifically for vehicles equipped with the factory fibre‑optic amp, it converts the phono audio output from your new aftermarket head unit into a digital signal compatible with the OEM amplifier, maintaining premium sound quality without the need for a full system overhaul.
The interface connects directly at the rear of the radio and includes speed pulse and reverse signal outputs for enhanced installation flexibility. Please note: the factory front‑to‑rear fade control will no longer function when using this interface.
To confirm compatibility, check the amplifier located in the front storage area. If it features two orange fibre‑optic cables feeding into a single connector, this is the correct interface for your vehicle.
For best results and to eliminate any external noise, we recommend pairing this interface with a two‑channel RCA ground loop isolator.
