VEHICLE COMPATIBILITY LIST

This custom fit head unit is designed to be an after-market replacement head unit for the original base level fitted head unit. The unit is supplied with a matching audio plug fitting from what should be stock entry level standard. Please read the fitment notes (if any) assigned to this product as we try to advise as many points on variant information and possibilities as we can.

COMPATIBLE WITH THE FOLLOWING MODELS:

• BMW 5 Series E39 Inc M5 (1996-2003)
• Range Rover L322 (2002-2004 *BMW Build Only*)

FITMENT NOTES:

1. Some models will need the frame behind the stereo to be modified in order to fit a new head unit into the aperture. It depends on the top brace bar of the stock radio frame.

2. If you have the original BMW or Range Rover Navigation system (12 pin blue and white plug system), then your stereo is actually in the rear quarter of the boot. The stock radio is the BM54 unit. This splits to the Nav (and sometimes DSP amplifier and TV tuner if you have them). To change the radio, you need unplug the BM54 and extend the radio wiring from the BM54 to the front where the new radio will sit. Part numbers REW-10155 and UCA-21028 are required to extend your radio cables (both sold separately).

3. If you have the DSP amplifier also, you have FIVE options:

Retain the functional DSP amplifier:

A) Buy our DSP Retention module adaptor - Part No# ARC-20909 - This retains the original DSP sound system.

B) Purchase our OBD-76IBUS   Android iBus dongle. This taps into the iBus wire on the vehicle and the App does the rest. Please note: You need to purchase the App APK and the DSP license separately direct from the developers (not through Audio Tech Direct).

Bypass the factory DSP amplifier:

C) If you have the factory DSP amplifier but it does not work, the you can purchase our ABC-20316 bypass and amp rewire harness. This will replace the need for REW-10155 whilst also re-wiring the speakers for you. (Please Note: This will only retain a maximum of 8 speakers)

D) Re-wire the speakers directly to the head unit together with REW-10155 (Please Note: This will only retain a maximum of 8 speakers)

E) Buy a new after-market amplifier (6 channel ideally) and re-wire the speakers to this.
