In 1994, the latest generation (C4) of the Audi 100 received a facelift and was renamed as the Audi A6, to fit in with Audi's new alphanumeric nomenclature.

The factory wiring uses an ISO plug and the dash will only fit a single DIN radio. Some vehicles are fitted with a factory BOSE system (the speaker grills will have a BOSE logo on them). These require the BOSE specific leads.
