The Mazda BT-50 Mk1 debuted in 2006 as the spiritual successor to the long-running B-Series. Built on the Ford Ranger’s global platform (the "J97" platform), the BT-50 was Mazda's entry into the modern 1-ton pickup market. A facelift arrived in 2008, bringing revised front-end styling and interior improvements. Production of the Mk1 continued until 2011, when it was replaced by the more aggressively styled and technically advanced BT-50 Mk2, based on the next-generation Ford Ranger (T6).

A double DIN conversion is possible on this vehicle.
