The MX-5 Mk3 (NC) launched in 2005, representing the biggest leap forward for the MX-5 since its debut. It was the first MX-5 to be based on a new platform (shared with the RX-8 in parts), offering more power, space, comfort, and modern features, while retaining the core spirit of a lightweight rear-wheel-drive roadster.

The vehicle is fitted with either the MFAS (Multi Function Audio System) or the Bose Radio (which also has Bose amplifier).
