The Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class (C208/A208) was the inaugural generation of the CLK series, produced from 1997 to 2003. The C208 coupé was manufactured from August 1996 to May 2002, while the A208 cabriolet was produced from November 1997 to March 2003. This model was based on the W202 C-Class platform but featured design elements inspired by the W210 E-Class. A facelift in September 1999 introduced updated equipment and optical changes, enhancing its appeal.

The audio systems in the C208/A208 CLK-Class varied depending on the trim level and market. Standard offerings included the Audio 10 and Audio 30 systems, which provided basic radio and CD functionalities. Higher-end models featured the Audio 30 APS system, which added navigation capabilities.
