The Mercedes-Benz R231 is the internal designation for the sixth generation SL-Class roadster, produced from 2012 to 2020. Known for blending luxury with sporty performance, the R231 debuted with a lighter aluminum body, modernized styling, and advanced technology features compared to its predecessor (R230). The range included models like the SL350, SL500, and high-performance AMG variants. In 2016, the R231 received a facelift featuring a more aggressive front-end design with reshaped headlights, a new grille, and updated bumpers.

The vehicle was on Mercedes NTG4.5 up until May 2015, then it changed over to the NTG5.0 infotainment system.
