With the new 982-generation, the marketing designation of the Boxster and Cayman was changed to Porsche 718. The 718 Boxster was introduced in January 2016, and premiered at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The 718 Cayman joined the range in April.

This vehicle is fitted with the PCM4.0 infotainment system. Vehicles can have the standard audio system or the Bose audio system.
