The Porsche Macan shares its platform and wheelbase with the first generation Audi Q5 (2008–2017). European models went on sales in spring 2014 and the initial line-up of models included the Macan S and Macan Turbo. In 2016, the vehicle was given it first facelift update. 

The vehicle was fitted with the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system. It was the PCM3.1 system for the pre-facelift (2014-2016) models and then changed to the PCM4.0 system from 2016 as part of the facelift update. Both systems are offered with a standard audio package powered from the head unit or the Bose premium sound system, which is on MOST fibre optic.

To indentify if you have the Bose amplified system, you will find the Bose badge on the speaker grilles. Models with Burmester audio can not be replaced with aftermarket products.
