The Corsa D was created using a new version of the SCCS platform, which was co-developed by General Motors/Opel and Fiat, and is also employed by the 2005 Fiat Grande Punto. The Corsa D is available in both three- and five-door versions and marketed as the Vauxhall Corsa in the United Kingdom.

The factory wiring uses a Quadlock plug and Fakra antenna lead.
