Not all models are compatible. You need to have factory OPS and then check your device part number. The part number of the device can be shown on the display: Menu button->Setup->System information->Part number of device
The following models are not compatible:
xxx035812
xxx035819, xxx035819A, xxx035819B, xxx035819C
xxx035820, xxx035820A, xxx035820B, xxx035820C
The first three letters stand for the manufacturer (e.g. 3Q0 and 5G0 for VW), the letter at the end only indicates the software version of the head unit. Newer software versions will probably not be compatible either! Only the last 6 digits of the part numbers are important.
